OXFORDPROSPECT – SEE EUROPE BY TRAIN STRASBOURG Part 2

Strasbourg has a lot of old and picturesque churches, including the Protestant church of St Thomas, whose organ was played by Mozart when he visited Strasbourg in 1778. At the centre of the old city is the amazing Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame, whose immense spire is a landmark for miles around and an icon of Strasbourg itself. It is covered in statues, with vast stained glass windows and immensely high vaulting inside. The cathedral houses treasures such as this gilded triptych and a magnificent 16th-century astronomical clock that is a work of art and science combined.
