Indonesia contains large reserves of natural gas. Currently, the country contains the third-largest gas reserves in the Asia Pacific region, after Australia and China, accounting for 1.4 percent of total global gas reserves. Indonesia is the tenth largest global gas producer and 24th biggest consumer of gas. Currently, Indonesia produces around twice as much natural gas as it consumes, reports BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2013.
