Sun 11 March – Paul Sawtell Quintet – £8 on door (Students ½-price) Paul Sawtell (vibes) Craig Milverton (p) Roy Sainsbury (g) Tom Hill (b) Nick Millward (d). Another chance to see the stunning Paul Sawtell performing on vibes. He appeared on vibes with Tom Hill last year and amazed everyone with his incredible dexterity. Good accessible jazz guaranteed to thrill – how could it be otherwise with such a stellar line-up?! ——————————————————————————– Sun 25 March – Dominic Norcross Quartet – £8 on door (Students ½-price) Dominic Norcross (s) John Davies (g) Steve Tarner (b) Eddie John (d). Dominic Norcross may be a new name to many of the Stratford Jazz fans but make no mistake this musician is up there with the best. The Guardian stated “The Dominic Norcross Quartet is fast becoming a mainstay of the British jazz scene.” Praise indeed! Dominic is equally at home with jazz and blues and has worked with such luminaries as Don Weller and Digby Fairweather. This is an impressive quartet producing excellent arrangements with fresh and inventive solo work. Not to be missed! ——————————————————————————– Sun 1 April – Stekpanna and the Russians – £8 on door (Students ½-price) Steve Kershaw (b) Mads Kjolby (g) Petter Svard (d) Leonid Vintskevitch (p) Nikola Vitskevitch (s)
