Easter Voices – Two Superbly Atmospheric Performances
Jericho’s beautiful Byzantine-style church St Barnabas opens its doors for two heart-stoppingly beautiful choral concerts this Easter. On Friday 15th April at 8.00 pm, Stile Antico, ‘probably the finest Early Music vocal chamber group this country has ever produced’, perform Lent-inspired music including works by Gibbons, Byrd and Tallis, and on Saturday 16th April at 8.00 pm, Tenebrae perform Rachmaninov’s haunting Liturgy of St John Chyrostom. Set in the magical atmosphere of Jericho’s Italianate Church, renowned for its stunning mosaics and campanile, here are two unforgettable evenings of music to touch the soul.
