London to Birmingham high-speed line (HS2) compensation scheme launched.
Friday 20th August
The Exceptional Hardship Scheme (EHS) for property owners affected by the proposed high speed rail line from London to Birmingham opens for applications from today, Friday 20th August.
Property owners on, or in the vicinity of, HS2 Ltd’s recommended route – Route 3 – who urgently need to move, and would suffer exceptional hardship if they are unable to do so, can apply for the Government to buy their property at its full unblighted value.
The Government has produced a guidance document on the EHS, which explains what property owners need to do in order to apply for the Government to buy their property, under what circumstances a property could qualify for the scheme, and the process for dealing with applications. http://www.oxfordprospect.co.uk/Oxford-Property.html
