Australia Coal Seam Gas 2011

“EnergyQuest”

By: Graeme Bethune

Dear Colleague,

EnergyQuest is currently compiling a new, confidential study, Australia Coal Seam Gas 2011: From Well to Wharf. This comprehensive report follows our previous report, Australian Coal Seam Gas 2010: CSG Meets LNG.

The last year has seen remarkable progress in Australia’s CSG to LNG projects. Some of the world’s major LNG buyers have now signed off-take contracts. Two projects are now under construction with others likely to follow. http://www.oxfordprospect.co.uk/Australia-Coal-Seam-Gas-2011.html

“Spring break”

By: Julia Gasper

Julia Gasper at Flower Festival

If someone suggested going on a Spring break somewhere relaxing, where you could enjoy, sunshine, fresh air, flowers, picturesque towns, green mountains and quality local wines, what destination would come into your mind? France, Spain, Greece? Madeira, Majorca? Turkey? Maybe Germany would not be your first answer, yet all of those things can be enjoyed in Eastern Germany, which is closer to us than the Costa Brava. South of the industrial area, there is a spacious rural and wine-growing country, through which wind the rivers Rhine, Moselle and their tributaries. It’s a great place to relax without getting bored.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to an event at the Wasserschloss Neuenhof, a beautiful moated manor-house at Ludenscheid, near Altena, so it was there that our journey began. http://www.oxfordprospect.co.uk/It’s-Fine-on-the-Rhine.html

St Antony’s College, University of Oxford

The European Studies Centre is offering a Research Assistantship to a doctoral student (preferably close to submission) who wishes to gain experience of international team-based research in the field of welfare reforms in Scandinavia and Germany. An important part of the European Studies Centre’s role is to conduct comparative research that helps to inform policy development, as well as contributing to scholarly knowledge and understanding in the field of European social policy. This research assistantship will support ongoing work related to an international research project on accountability and welfare democracy in Germany.
