Is It Time For Oxford Brookes University to expand its Wheatley campus?

No doubt there are some in Headington who wish Oxford Brookes had not grown to
be such a success it is today. For Headington having a vibrant education,
research and health sector is vital for local business and the many jobs in the
area, especially in this time of recession.

It is in the national interest that Oxford Brookes expands further, the real
problem for its residents is how and where this expansion should be
accommodated. After the many years of expansion Headington has experienced from
both the health and education sectors, perhaps it is time for Oxford Brookes
Wheatley site to take up the strain of development for a change, where there is
plenty of space to expand.

Though the cycle way that links Headington with Wheatley could do with some
improvements, also having Brookes future expansion focused on Wheatley might
persuade Chiltern Railways to move forward with tentative proposals to reopen
the railway between Thame and Cowley.

RAIN STOPPED PLAY.

Oxford is certainly blessed to have the Creation Theatre Company whose annual performances of Shakespeare in the parks, the Castle and other venues have given great delight to both local and tourist audiences. Their latest production, of TWELFTH NIGHT, is dogged by problems, some of them, but not all, attributable to the weather. http://www.oxfordprospect.co.uk/Review.htm

Can-Am Spyder – A Trike For Bikers

A high-performance “recreational vehicle” that you can drive with a car licence, the Spyder is built along the same lines as the old Morgan trike of the 1940s, except that rather than sitting inside a car-type cabin you sit on it, as on a motorcycle.
