Getting to the show on time!
As a journalist that reviews many plays and films, I find it irritating the number of times theatres and cinemas leave the basic information about where they are actually located. It’s almost as if such theatres don’t want us reviewers and customers to come to see the show. It would be extremely useful if web designers working for production companies and theatre space provided the following information on your websites:1. A link to page with an easy to read map indicating where the theatre or performance space is located.2. On that map:a. The nearest bus stops and routes that serve the theatre or performance space.b. The nearest car and cycle parks.c. Links to the bus and train company’s that serve the theatre or performance space.d. Clearly indicated major landmarks 3. In the locality, it would be useful if you encouraged the council to clearly indicate with signage where the theatre or performance space is located. This signage should be easily seen by people using bus stops and car parks. Suggest to the Council to put up a local map with major facilities including the theatre or performance space clearly indicated.4. Test your website out on people with sight difficulties.5. Test your website out on different types of customer/user to see if they can find the required information easily and quickly e.g. where they can go to eat and have a cup of tea.6. Note about websites: Just because a website looks pretty does not mean it is ease to use. Remember Function should have priority over form.
