A woman has been given a 12-month conditional discharge after appearing at Oxford Magistrates Court following a noise nuisance case.
Melanie Day, of Nettlebed Mead, Greater Leys, pleaded guilty to two offences of failing to comply with the requirements of a noise abatement notice, contrary to section 80(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Environmental Health Officers at Oxford City Council had seized around £700 worth of electrical equipment following complaints from neighbours about the noise.
Officers seized a stereo, television, DVD player, computer, radio alarm clock, Playstation, DVD’s and CD’s following the complaints.
Ms Day was sentenced to a conditional discharge for 12 months and the court ordered her to pay £200 towards Oxford City Council’s costs following her appearance at court on Friday 9 November.
